It’s hard to believe it was just a week ago that I was in sunny Florida! I went down there to combine a visit with my parents on the East coast with a dressage clinic in Loxahatchee and a visit with my daughter in Ocala. I threw in a little work too- feeling out possibilities for selling my equine-related paintings and floorcloths to the horsey crowd down there.

My good friend, Weezie (and her husband, Stan, and dog, Frodo) put me up for 3 days in Jupiter. What a great spot- easy access to all the horse stuff in Wellington, but not in the middle of all the glitz! On Saturday Weezie and I had a wonderful evening of watching musical Grand Prix Freestyles. What a treat. And then watching the wonderful horses and riders at the USDF Trainer’s Conference was icing on the cake. Not only did I learn tons from the Conference, but I was doodling paintings in my head the whole time!

If any of you know of any galleries, decorators or home owners in Florida (or anywhere else) who might be interested in my artwork, please pass my website address along. This is all part of the new path I am attempting to blaze my way into- more elaborately detailed work, with a definite lean toward all things equestrian.

The break was timely, as the This Old House episode featuring me, my studio and my work aired last Thursday and throughout the past week. The folks at TOH did a wonderful job in production and managed to make me look not nearly as frazzled as I felt while they were here! The phone has been ringing off the hook all week and I have been busy answering requests and following up. Phew!
