I never quite know what’s going to happen when I paint these little things. I have so little control over the paint, because each little application represents a relatively large area in real life. For example, the right ear on this horse is a stroke of a tiny brush. The ear itself is less than 1/8″. So in that fraction of an inch everything about the paint has to say “horse’s ear”. I find it best to just let it happen and not worry about it. In this one, the hound went a little astray! To me, he looks like he’s running off to the right, maybe going around the little jump to save his energy?
