A few weeks ago a Mom stopped by to see my work while her daughter was busy at Green Mountain Horse Association’s Junior Horsemanship Clinic. This “camp” has been running for 62 years, and I hauled kids up there daily for a few of them when my daughter was involved. It’s a wonderful time when the kids really get to know their horses, how to take care of them and how to prepare for a competition, as well as forming long-lasting friendships and working up a good sweat!
This painting is of that Mom’s kid, out on the cross country course. It’s always fun to create a painting where kids and their horses are just plain having a good time.
