Allegheny Portage Railroad Museum, Gallitzin, PA

The Lemon House Tavern at the Allegheny Portage Railroad Museum was built in the mid-1830’s by Samuel Lemon, where he and his family lived and operated a tavern to travelers until 1847. As part of the renovation to the tavern, Lisa Curry Mair designed a 40-foot long floorcloth for the main entryway. Installed wall-to-wall in 2011, this floorcloth has a marble effect, which was frequently used at that time to replicate marble-tiled floors.
