When I sit down to paint one of these little (3″x3″) paintings, I ponder for a bit about what I’d like to capture today. This weekend I’ll be taking Kate to a 2-day dressage clinic with Lauren Sprieser, from Virginia. This is a clinic being hosted by the Central Vermont Dressage Association, of which I’m a board member. There will be ten of us riding with Lauren; all eager to learn the ropes and climb the levels. Lauren has a wealth of experience and is a wonderful trainer with a great sense of humor. Lots of fun! So that is what was on my mind. And then I got thinking about how everyone is looking forward to a nice late spring weekend and I decided I needed this dressage horse to be going somewhere. I also like to challenge myself with different perspectives of the horse’s figure. So there he goes cantering off into the weekend. I hope you have a good one too!
