Fox and Hen

This sly fox is dutifully guarding his hen. I’m not sure what the result of this situation is, but I had a lot of fun painting it, and at this moment everything seems OK! It ended up being part of a painting I did for a floorcloth I called “Peaceable New England” which mimics Edward Hicks’ Peaceable Kingdom series.
