This beautiful dairy barn stands at the brink of a hill just up the dirt road from where I am keeping Kate (my horse) for the winter. While out walking her one day it called to me. Back at the studio I set to work trying to capture it’s charm. Rough around the edges, but standing proud. I used wrinkled paper and lumpy gesso to add age and texture. The tree in the foreground was completely cut out with an Xacto knife and pasted on to create a three dimensional quality.

The original 20″ x 16″ artwork is a combination of painting, torn papers, prints and textural washes to create an image as varied and complex as the old barn itself. It is framed to 23″ X 19″ in an aged barnboard frame. It is available now at a special price of $950.    Contact the studio for more information or to purchase.
