Chores
An endless walk between the house and the barn. Devotion, responsibility and care. It’s what makes farm life what it is. The animals need the farmer. The farmer needs the animals. And so, no matter the weather, the time of day or the inconvenience it might create, the chores are done. Every day. The work is rewarded by gentle puffs of warm breath, a barely audible nicker or the peaceful sound of content hay-munching.
The original 20″ x 16″ artwork is created from layers of paint on plaster on canvas stretched over a wood frame. The plaster and deep, rich textures give a look of something quite old and rough around the edges, just like the old farms that still dot the Vermont countryside. This piece has been sold.
Prints (gallery wrapped or framed) are available at this link.
