Lisa Curry Mair recently painted this piece using an interesting c. 1900 photograph of Colby Hill, taken from Columbus Jordan Rd. looking East for reference.
The house on the left built by Joseph Kimball in 1794 was later owned by Colby/Wildey/Fletcher/Brooks, and now Bonney. The house on the right built in 1798 by Micaijah Adams, was later lived in by the Misses Scott, then Millar/Gibson and was sadly lost to a fire in 2020. Quite a collection of barns where the Scotts kept cows.
The barnboard-framed original painting is 24″ w x 18″ h and is available at the studio now. Contact the studio for more information.
Also, Giclee-quality prints of this piece are available in various sizes.
“Colby Hill View” canvas print by Lisa Curry Mair. Artwork comes to life with the texture and depth of a stretched canvas print. Your image gets printed onto one of our premium canvases and then stretched on a wooden frame of 1.5″ x 1.5″ stretcher bars . Your canvas print will be delivered to you “ready to hang” with pre-attached hanging wire, mounting hooks, and nails. “Mirrored” means the image continues around the edges of the frame.
