This barn complex began sometime at the end of the 18th century with the part of the barn you see in this painting at the far left. That section is a 28′ x 34′ English style barn, built by Joseph Smith, one of the original proprietors of Plainfield, NH. At one point the farm covered over 600 acres, housing a large dairy operation, growing potatoes , selling lumber from a small saw mill and raising thousands of chickens. Today this part of the barn is the only remaining structure of the once large farming complex.
The barnboard-framed original painting is 16″ w x 12″ h and will be available at a special price soon. Contact the studio for more information.
Giclee-quality prints of this piece are available in various sizes.
