Originally, this was the Jordan farm, started in 1799. Darwin Jordan purchased the farm from Farnum Spencer in 1877 and raised cattle, sheep and turkeys. It stayed in the Jordan family until 2016.
This painting is done by Curry Mair using a combination of techniques- preparing the stretched canvas with a layer of plaster and paint mixed and then pasting text from a nineteenth century New Hampshire newspaper to create the road. This gives a very rough base surface and creates an aged appearance to a new painting and the text adds texture and historical info! The barnboard-framed original painting is 20″ w x 16″ h and will be available at a special price soon. Contact the studio for more information.
Giclee-quality prints of this piece are available in various sizes.
