This is a 30″ x 12″ painting I did as a study while trying to create a “moody” scene from the past as requested by a mural client. This is the type of sketch I create to see how the mural is going to work. It can be Photoshopped onto the wall for the homeowner to see and approve before painting at full scale begins.

Love the contrast of the bark and the darkness of the foliage. What an inspiration! Also, drama is a good thing when it works and indeed in my opinion it works well here.
